Bella Rose Studio holds ribbon cutting

PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) – A new studio held a ribbon cutting with the Peoria-area Chamber of Commerce at Northwoods Mall on Friday.

Bella Rose Studio is an all purpose portrait studio offering professional photography services.

Joshua Elgin, co-owner of Bella Rose Studio, said they are a traditional portrait studio at heart, offering a variety of services including headshots, corporate photography, events, prints and framing.

Co-owner Derek Bagby said what sets them apart is that they blend traditional and digital photography.

“We combine traditional with the more modern new age style of photography that has come a long way with the media,” Bagby said. “We’ve practically entered a digital age.”

A variety of props and backgrounds are available for anyone who comes in to have their picture taken. Timothy Lane, who is responsible for marketing and media at Bella Rose Studio, said they also offer digital editing.

“Derek is very good at manipulating photos, especially those of cosplay events and people in costumes,” Lane said. “If you have a Batman character, he can put Gotham City on the back burner and make it look like you’re actually there.”

Elgin said they are willing to share their skills with local artists in the area.

“We want to be able to share our knowledge and experience and share our resources with them,” Elgin said. “It’s more about empowering the community than just taking good pictures.

The Bella Rose Studio opens to the public at 11am on Saturday
